Robola Cooperative
The Robola Cooperative was created in 1982 to promote and protect the interests of the Robola grape producers in the appellation area. The production unit was built in 1987 with grants from the state. Approximately 300 wine growers pool their resources and provide their grapes to the cooperative.
The grape harvest takes place in late August-early September.
The wine growers of the cooperative are paid more than the national average in the rest of Greece. This is to encourage the local population to continue culture so that young people don't stop culture and turned exclusively to tourism.
The cooperative absorbs 70% of Robola grape Kefalonia. The production unit produces 380,000 bottles, the amount depends obviously from harvest of the year.
